ACE HSC Tuition is proud to offer the Justin Wu ACE Scholarship in Chemistry, recognising outstanding academic potential, commitment, and motivation in high performing students entering Year 11 Chemistry in 2026. Scholarships will be offered for both ACE’s Accelerated and Standard streams. Since 2016, ACE Chemistry students have achieved 38 NSW HSC State Ranks, 17 of which in the top 10, as well over 2500 Band 6 results reflecting the rigour, depth, and academic excellence of the ACE HSC Chemistry tutoring program which underscores ACE’s long-standing track record of excellence in senior Chemistry in the NSW HSC Sciences Curriculum.
With a number of places on offer, this scholarship is designed for students who thrive in rigorous academic environments and are seeking to extend themselves under expert guidance.
Justin Wu is a medical doctor at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney. He currently serves as the Academic Director at ACE and was previously its inaugural Head of Chemistry.
Justin graduated as the Dux of James Ruse Agricultural High School in 2016, achieving an ATAR of 99.95 and earning five NSW State Ranks, including Chemistry. He subsequently studied the Double Degree Medicine Program at the University of Sydney, completing a Bachelor of Science with double majors in Anatomy & Histology and Chemistry, followed by the Doctor of Medicine, from which he graduated as Proxime Accessit. Justin is passionate about mentoring and supporting the next generation of critical thinkers.
Scholarships apply to one subject only (Chemistry) and places are strictly limited.
Applications are open to students from ALL schools. Existing ACE student enrolments may also apply.
Merit Commendation
Due to the competitive nature of the program, not all applicants may progress to each stage. However, unsuccessful applicants who perform highly may be offered a Merit Commendation which includes a 20% tuition discount for ACE’s Term 2 Chemistry.

Scholarship examination (1hr) in science concepts applied to Chemistry, assessing problem-solving, reasoning, and subject understanding
Two exam windows: 10am - 11am and 1pm - 2pm
Short interview for shortlisted candidates to assess motivation, work ethic, and communication
Scheduling between 9am and 12:30pm
Scholarship offers and Merit Commendations released
Students wishing to be considered must submit an online application. Eligible applicants will receive further instructions regarding the scholarship examination and interview process.
The scholarship provides a full tuition waiver for Chemistry at ACE for one academic year. Recipients also receive a 50% discount on any additional ACE subjects they enrol in.

To support administration of the examination process, there is a $30 administration fee if progressing to the examination stage.
Places are strictly limited and selection is based on performance in the scholarship examination and interview.

Our 2026 Year 11 and Year 12 HSC classes are now open, following an outstanding 2025 results year for ACE students. 2025 ACE HSC students achieved 10 State Ranks including 4 in Economics, 3 in Physics, 1st in the State for Extension 1 Mathematics, plus State Ranks in Extension 2 Mathematics and Chemistry, alongside 319 Band 6 results in ACE subjects, 109 ACE students with 99+ ATARs, and 9 ACE students achieving a perfect 99.95 ATAR results.
