Our HSC course is divided up by topics which run for 8 weeks. In addition, we also offer an 8 week HSC Exam Program for students to consolidate their knowledge while developing the exam techniques vital to maximising marks.
Each week students will attend a 2 hour class during which they learn new theoretical knowledge. Classes are designed to provide systematic and in-depth coverage of HSC syllabus. Students will create in-class lesson notes that will be further developed in the problem-based classes.
Problem Based Classes
The PBCs aim to consolidate material learnt during theory classes. Each PBC is one hour long (both HSC and Preliminary) and directly follows the theory class. Students effectively revise their theory learning through the interactive guidance of our teachers, so as to integrate their problem solving skills with their theoretical knowledge. HSC-style questions are used as the basis for the problem-based learning sessions, focusing on learning the techniques and writing skills necessary for the best performance in HSC and Preliminary examinations. By the end of each problem-based session students will be taught how to answer each question to gain the maximum possible marks.
This more personal interaction allows each individual student’s needs to be addressed, helping struggling students to resolve difficulties and providing more advanced students the chance to further excel.
Multiple tutorials are held throughout the week for students to further consolidate their knowledge through more practice questions and clarify any lingering issues. These tutorials are run for an hour (both HSC and Preliminary) under the supervision of tutors and students are encouraged to clarify problems in all subject areas, not limited to just their enrolled courses, as ACE aims to help students to better their school marks holistically.
